Here’s What to Do When the Universe Brings You Down

Sometimes, we just feel like the whole world is working against us. It’s probably not, but it sure does feel that way. We might think the universe has a personal vendetta against us, and we wonder if it will ever get better. After all, we all go through periods of time where we feel like absolutely everything is going wrong. It’s the worst. We wonder if anyone understands what we’re going through, or if they’ll listen if we tell them how we’re feeling. We feel like we have no idea how to make things better, and we think that our lives will just never turn around.

The good news and bad news-sometimes, this is the stars talking. You may think that means there’s nothing you can do about it, but that’s where you’re wrong. Here are a few things you can do when the cosmos are bringing you down.

  1. Figure out exactly what’s going on up there.

What’s causing this bad mood of yours? Is it the particular moon phase? Is a certain planet (Mercury, perhaps?) in retrograde? Is Venus messing with your love life? Is Chiron forcing you down a healing path that you don’t think you’re ready for? When you find the cause, you’ll have a better understanding of why you’re experiencing these emotions.

  1. See if there’s anything positive that you can gain from what you’re going through.

Everything negative can be balanced by something positive. You don’t have to wallow in negativity-try to see how these emotions actually benefit you. Have you figured out that you need to let go of a certain relationship? Have you realized that you’re unhappy with your career path? Have you decided that you would be happier living somewhere else? Now that you realize these things are holding you back, you can move towards people, places, and things that do serve you.

  1. Take good care of yourself.

Our physical health will always, always affect our emotional well-being. If you do not keep your body in good physical condition, your mind won’t be performing at its top potential. No matter what the stars are up to, you should be eating healthy, nutritious foods, exercising regularly, drinking plenty of water, and getting enough sleep every night. It can be difficult to maintain all of these things in our crazy, fast paced world, but if you do, you’ll notice a big change in your emotional state!

  1. Keep a journal to track your feelings.

Writing down everything that you’re going through can help you process it. Keep note of what’s happening in the astrological calendar at the time so you can see what is causing particular emotions-that way, you’ll be prepared in the future! It also gives you space to just vent when you don’t have anyone to talk to. It’s like a best friend that will never judge you or look down on you. So don’t be embarrassed about writing in a journal-when the cosmos are going crazy, it can keep you sane!
